MARRIOTTSVILLE, Md. ? Following a nationwide search, Bon Secours Health System (BSHSI) today announced the appointment of Clark resident Carlos G. Beato as chief executive officer for Bon Secours New York Health System (BSNY) in Riverdale, New York. Beato?will assume his new responsibilities on April 15.

In this CEO position, Beato?will report directly to Dr. Marlon Priest, the system?s chief medical officer and executive vice president for senior services and work collaboratively with Brother Art Caliman, president of the board of directors for BSNY. He will be responsible for the effective and efficient management and growth of the BSNY ministry and will provide leadership, vision, inspiration and direction to ensure the success of its patient, resident, physician, employee, operational, financial, community and strategic initiatives.

Beato?has 25 years of senior level clinical, management and business development experience in both for-profit, not-for-profit, and faith-based organizations including assisted living, skilled nursing, home care and post-acute rehab. He comes to Bon Secours from United Methodist Homes of New Jersey, where he is currently Corporate Director of Clinical Services. His responsibilities include clinical management oversight of 10 facilities, ranging from HUD housing, CCRC?s, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Skilled Nursing Services with over 1300 residents.

Beato also?brings 15 years as CEO of his own consulting company. Clients included hospitals, nursing homes, homecare, hospices and assisted living, including several Bon Secours ministries. Key work focus included compliance/regulatory issues as well as developing strategic partnerships/alliances for profitability.

Dr. Priest stated, ?Carlos recognizes that the main focus of the new CEO at Bon Secours New York will be on key external relations and long-range strategic planning. Beato?earned his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Jersey City State University in Jersey City, NJ, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College, Albany, NY. Carlos resides in New Jersey with Maria, his wife of 38 years. They have two children, Eryn Casey and Lauren Chervenyak, three grandchildren.
